BusyCal 2024.2.2
BusyCal 2024.2.2 has been released and is available for download. We stagger our roll-outs, so in case you don't see one available within the app, feel free to download the latest trial version directly.
Release Notes
- 🆕 Major Feature: Ongoing and upcoming events can now be displayed with a countdown in the menu bar! Customize this feature under Settings > Menu
- 🆕 Current & Upcoming Event Widget: This automatically displays the currently ongoing event as well as the upcoming event
- 🆕 To grab your attention, the alarm window now subtly shakes when a new alarm is displayed. This feature can be configured from Settings > Alarms
- 🆕 End times of events are now displayed in the Alarm Window. This feature can be configured from Settings > Alarms
- 🆕 Hovering the mouse over alarms in the alarm window now displays the time elapsed. This feature can be configured from Settings > Alarms
- 🆕 You can now change the displayed sort order of BusyCal alarms under Settings > Alarms
- 🆕 Advanced Setting: A new setting enables confirmation for any changes made to an event
- 🆕 Accessibility Setting: There is now an option to switch to editing an event immediately after duplication when using a pop-over style editor
- 🆕 Shared calendar settings for Microsoft Office accounts (over the new Graph API)
- 🆕 You can now open your Google Calendar in a browser by ctr-clicking on the primary calendar and selecting "Open in browser..."
- ✨ Improvements to alarm window layout and design
- ✨ To differentiate new alarms from old, the alarm window now displays an animated bell against newly added items
- ✨ The quick entry field now auto-expands vertically instead of overflowing horizontally
- ✨ Smart filter options now includes a filter for: "tag or category" (to include Outlook categories)
- 🔨 Holding down option key and dropping events on the mini-calendar now correctly copies the event instead of moving it
- Ongoing stability and performance related improvements
How to install the update
The update is free for all BusyCal customers with a valid license and is available now.
- Direct customers can update by selecting Check for Updates from the BusyCal menu.
- New users can download the BusyCal 30-Day Trial.
- Mac App Store users can download the update directly from the store page once it's been reviewed and approved by Apple
- Setapp users can launch the Setapp app and select Check for Updates from the Setapp menu
In case you own a direct, perpetual copy and your license has expired, you can extend your license from here to receive an additional 18 months of updates.
